The VK Civil staff have provided civil engineering design on many K-12 and higher education campuses. We know how to address the complicated nature of the facilities at educational campuses: traffic flow (bus, deliveries, and vehicular), pedestrian flow, student safety, and athletic facilities. We ensure conversations related to these matters are had early on in the planning process. We have been serving the Kent Intermediate School District for many years and have also worked on many other K-12 schools in West and Southwest Michigan such as Kalamazoo Public Schools and Byron Public Schools. Our staff has also worked on many college and university projects such as Western Michigan University, Notre Dame, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

- Provided design and project management to many K-12 and Higher Education projects including Kalamazoo Public Schools, Notre Dame, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s downtown Kalamazoo campus.
- Dan has worked on many site plans for commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, and residential neighborhood projects over his 23 year career.
- Project management and design of Midlink Business Park, a business park with a mix of commercial and industrial uses. The site plans completed so far in this park have been Candlewood Suites, Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, Seneca Medical Supplies, Kaiser Aluminum, Hark Orchids, Maggie’s Catering, Purity Gas, and Zeigler Motorsports.
- Supplied design and project management to many residential neighborhoods in West Michigan including parcel splits, plats, site condominiums, planned unit developments (PUD), condominiums (single to multi-family), and open space communities.
